The Utility Manager Profiler
Overview
The Utility Manager™ (UM) Profiler is a web-based meter data profiling application that tracks utility usage in up to 15-minute intervals for specific sites. These sites can be defined as a piece of equipment, a room, or an entire building. With this information, an energy or facility manager can pinpoint energy use at a specific site and at specific times of the day. This data is critical in determining incorrect utility billing, faulty equipment, and other functions, such as, internal cost allocation, inefficient processes and procedures, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation.
Benefits
- Displays exact consumption data for better procurement and sound planning
- Assists in establishing energy benchmarks of usage and demand
- Helps identify inefficient operations, faulty equipment, and abnormal consumption
- Profiles energy consumption for any piece of equipment, section of building, entire building, group of buildings, or the entire organization
- Verifies consumption reductions that result from other energy management initiatives
How It Works
UM Profiler works by capturing utility consumption data for commodities such as electricity, natural gas, and steam at the meter as it is being consumed. This data is then sent to SMR for compilation, quality assurance, and posting to the UM Profiler Web site. Once there, the data is charted and graphed for easy identification of opportunities to reduce utility consumption and expense.
