The Utility Manager Online
Overview
The Utility Manager™ (UM) Online makes accessing utility data, reports, and analysis fast and easy for even the most complex organizations. This is an extremely robust web-based application that serves various users within an organization such as Energy Management, Facilities Management, Procurement, or Accounting. Each of the above departments has their own need for utility data and UM Online offers each a utility data ‘Dashboard’ that can be customized to meet their specific needs. UM Online eliminates the hassle of having to sort through vast amounts of utility data that is not pertinent the user’s individual needs. All of an organization’s utility data from line item bill data, to usage and cost data, to interval data, and even electronic bill images can be viewed through UM Online.
UM Online works in conjunction with UM Server, SMR’s utility bill management application, where it retrieves an organization’s utility data. It can reside either internally within an organization’s network or can be externally hosted by SMR.

Site-based Utility Management
In addition to managing utilities centrally, UM Online enables organizations to engage in site-based utility management. For each site, a facility manager, store manager, or engineer has their own customized utility management Web portal that can display:
- Total energy cost over the past year
- Site-based energy cost performance showing the best, worst, and averages across the organization
- Budget and forecast vs. actuals for the month, year to date, and remaining periods
- Previous day’s interval data profile
- Energy cost savings for the month, year to date, and previous year
- A customized ‘favorite’ reports list
Convenient access to this data empowers facility managers to track their site’s performance, implement conservation programs, and see the savings those efforts are realizing.
